Description:

Designed by Dick Sarpolus, the Discovery Jet is a simple and inexpensive turbine-powered sport flyer. It is capable of basic aerobatics, but it is intended to be a starting point for modeler's who want to get into turbine-powered flight. The model has foam-core wing and tail surfaces and a plywood, lite-ply and balsa fuselage construction. It has fixed landing gear, but retracts can be added.

Notes:

When U Fly Hobbies released the Discovery sport jet it caught my eye. I fly at 2 fields of which one is grass, the other being pavement. Looking closer at the Discovery jet led me to believe it would be a good grass field sport jet. So I decided to order up some plans from RC Store at a cost of $24.95 and order a set of wing cores from U Fly Hobbies. I must say that the people at U Fly Hobbies are great to deal with. My order was delayed a bit until a suitable box to ship the wings arrived at their shop. Jackie called the day after I placed my order to inform me that there would be a delay. Wow, what company have you recently ordered from that actually calls it's customers to inform them about a delay? I was impressed again when Jackie phoned yesterday to tell me that my order had shipped and that they included a few extra goodies for my patients. I give U Fly Hobbies an A+ for customer service!
