CNC Router Phoenix Build Pictorial DAY 5 One of the side braces has been marked for cutting.
Using a Jigsaw I cut one of two side braces. This process went pretty smooth.
The first of two cuts in the side brace is completed. On the right you can see how the first side brace came out.
Here are the two side braces and the back brace. The necessary holes have been drilled according to John's plans.
To mount the side braces to the trolley, a few of the drilled holes need to be tapped.
The side braces and back brace go together quickly and without much effort. Of course it is always nice to have good plans that guide you through each step.
The bracing is mounted the trolley. This will support the X and Z axis.
The trolley was then mounted back on the pipes.
Another picture of the Phoenix so far.
And yet another picture. At this point it is hard not to stop and roll the trolley back and forth or bring the wife into the garage and show her how much fun you can have pushing the trolley back and forth. Here honey, give it a try.
This was actually a pretty short building session but some good progress was made toward the completion of the Phoenix CNC Router. It's coming together slowly but surely!
