CNC Phoenix Router Controller Board Build Pictorial

As I said before. The electronics to control the CNC Phoenix Router were purchased from HobbyCNC (http:\\www.hobbycnc.com). I decided to involve my Dad in this project as he likes to solder and does a much better job then me. I went with a complete package so I would not have to hunt around for all the parts. My Dad has taken some pictures of what he received that you can see below. He will document the build process as well. Thanks Dad!

This is the box that came from Hobbycnc.

Opening the box reveals some nice and neat packing.

Removel of the parts list showed more of how the items were packed. Great packing!

A parts list made it easy to see a quick run through of what should be included in the box.

And of course instructions on how to assemble everything. It would probably be a good idea to read through these a few times to get familar with the build process.

Here are the electronic components for the 3-axis drive kit. The new "Chopper" boards according to John are a good choice as they allow increased movement speed on the CNC Router. John's support forum has more information on the "Chopper" boards as well as HobbyCNC's website.

A close up view.

Here is a fan that will be mounted in the box that the controller will be mounted in. This will help suck out heat from the controller box.

More electronic parts. Is that a capacitor or is that a capacitor.

Ok, the meat and potatoes kind of in our CNC Phoenix Router project. Here is one of three stepper motors that will drive one of the three axis.
